Chemotheraparty follows Sara, a new cancer patient, and Nathan, a character in her book, who have very similar journeys. Sara is learning to navigate through chemotherapy and sees the realities of what it takes to fight cancer – the good, the bad, and the fun in between. Nathan, a plucky young adventurer, works with his group of friends to defeat a mysterious force threatening his home.

This story is based very closely on the creator Katherine Engelby’s own experience with stage 4b Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was extremely lucky to have family and friends that kept her grounded as she went through treatment. It was their support, love, and wonderful sense of humor that helped her stay herself throughout treatment. These experiences strongly inspired her to write a story about how chemotherapy and cancer are both everything and nothing like you expect them to be and specifically share the same humor and energy she was surrounded with during her cancer experience.
